Craft workshops to sign up for this Christmas

Here are some reasons why you should sign up for craft workshops this festive season.

1 .Studies show that just 45 minutes of creative activity can reduce stress levels. That’s even if you’re completely hopeless at it.

2. Picking up a new hobby together can strengthen your relationship. Couples who frequently try new things together have better relationships, according to research published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology.

3. Creating something with your hands can give you a sense of pride and accomplishment. And it’s the process, not as much the end product, that creates that sense of satisfaction.

Convinced? Great!

Sceptical? Well, try one of these craft workshops this month and let us know if it did you any good! (Don’t you love our powers of persuasion?)

Origami Hot Air Balloon Mobile Workshop

By Paper In My Attic

Self-taught paper artist Rae Lim leads this three-hour craft workshop. What exactly is a paper artist? Well, in her case, it means that she’s able to transform simple flat pieces of paper into flower cake toppers, terrariums for table centerpieces, and even art installations.

This art installation is called “Boundaries” and explores geometric patterns to form patterns.

We can’t even get over how intricate these paper flowers are.

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to make a hot air balloon mobile using basic origami pleating techniques. There will even be a calligraphy artist on site to personalise your creation.
